Creative processes to help you process

WELCOME

I’m Lara Phillips. I use creative processes to help you draw out where you’re at, in order to draw out your inner wisdom.

Background
CREATIVE PROCESSING

Discover a gentle and deep way to process your emotions and access inner resources. I am not a therapist, but rather a creative facilitator trained in Interactive Drawing Therapy, along with 20 years’ experience as a creative copywriter.

I believe in the power of creative processes, such as writing and drawing, to draw out a side of us that is enlightening. It is often this space where ideas are born and new connections are made. These processes, that are also used in branding, can be used for personal growth.

Interactive Drawing Therapy

Interactive Drawing Therapy is a tool that uses writing, drawing and reflecting without having to be an artist. It’s more like crayon mark-making. By drawing out onto paper where we are at, we start to see and feel things in a new light.
We move between the left and right sides of the brain, the logical and creative, the literal and metaphorical, the conscious and unconscious. This is where the magic is. And the good news is, the less we try, the more it helps.

Lara Phillips

As a Creative Facilitator, there is no interpreting of drawings, no advice given. I simply create a safe space for you to create a relationship with your inner self, through the page.
I am trained in Interactive Drawing Therapy, hold a Bachelor of Design degree, and have 20 years’ experience working as a creative copywriter in the creative fields.
My expertise is in listening, drawing out the heart or essence of where you are at, and helping you to communicate that with yourself. It is not about fixing anything, but rather experiencing everything.

“These techniques are very understated and quietly powerful. Lara has a very quiet, calm yet focused approach to this work; something I was very comfortable and at ease with during our sessions.” – Michelle
“The sessions have been very helpful clarifying my thinking. I find myself feeling much lighter and more focused on what I need to let go of and what is constructive for me to focus on. Lara is a skilled facilitator who gets me to express myself in ways that I would not have been able to do on my own. I look forward to the sessions.” – Fiona
“My son who is 10 said “It was really good and refreshing and it was fun. It was really nice and I learnt that drawing is a good way to release stress”. When asked what it was like working with Lara he said “She was really nice and really, really funny and she was kind as well”. My son always seemed lighter and open after each session. – Moushmi
“Lara enabled me through her gentle approach to work on difficult personal issues. I felt very valued by Lara, she was tuned in with what I said. She gave me time to express myself and asked very valuable questions, and they opened up new perspectives.” – Ingrid
“This approach allows me to acknowledge my inner needs on a tangible level. By visualizing what was once abstract, I can confront and name my fears, making them less mysterious and frightening. With Lara’s help, I progressively discovered the roots of my inner beliefs and energy, leading to self-reconciliation.” – Yan
“Working with Lara has been wonderfully surprising, each time I have a session I am amazed at how many insights I gain. Lara holds such a peaceful, caring and non-judgemental energy.  As the session unfolds I’m always curious about what will bubble up, and each session ends with me feeling like I gained heaps.” – Dov
“I found Lara’s gentle, insightful facilitation to explore the challenges on the page, helpful for bringing to the light hidden areas and questions that needed attention in order to make decisions about the path ahead.” – Nicola
“I find it hard to express myself sometimes so having art to help me think about my emotions is really helpful. Lara is really nice and I find it easy to talk to her. The sessions have helped me stay calmer when I used to feel overwhelmed. I know that not all emotions are bad emotions so when I feel sad or angry or happy I know it’s ok and my feelings are valid.” – Rian (10 yrs old)
“Lara’s patient facilitation has helped me acknowledge and understand my reflective thoughts by highlighting positive areas in the drawings which has been beneficial for self-care. I have enjoyed focusing and elaborating on a specific drawing/word regarding my linked thoughts, making it clearer where there’s an Uh-huh moment.”-  John
